A renewable resource, coconut chips comes in different sizes to meet your needs as a standalone growing medium or a potting mix additive. The chips decompose slowly, ensuring maximum air circulation for orchid roots. When the husk around the coconut is not separated into Coco-fiber and Coco-peat, but cut into pieces, Coco-chips are produced. The Coco-chips are washed in clean water to achieve a material which can be safely used in growing media with low EC level (salt content). Using Coco chips as an additive in potting mixtures creates a growing medium with the ideal physical properties. The husk chips can absorb water and yet leave enough air available for sensitive plants such as gerberas and orchids.
